Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Dock (moleculardocking.online) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our online molecular docking service. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. See our Terms of Service for service limitations and liability disclaimers.

Data controller: the independent operator of Dock (moleculardocking.online). Privacy questions: support@moleculardocking.online.

1. Information we collect

Account and identity information

  • Email address when you register or sign in
  • Name or display name if you provide one
  • Basic profile data returned by third-party sign-in providers (e.g. Google) if you choose that method

Research and job data

  • Receptor structures (PDB, etc.), ligands (SMILES, SDF, etc.), and docking parameters you upload
  • Docking outputs, reports, logs, and Credit usage records generated by the system

Payment information

  • Subscription and purchase records, plan type, transaction IDs
  • Card/PayPal details are processed directly by third-party payment processors (PayPal, Creem, etc.); we generally do not store full card numbers

Technical and usage data

  • IP address, browser type, device information, language preferences
  • Access times, page views, error logs, and security/fraud-related metadata
  • Session and preference data via cookies and similar technologies (Section 7)

2. How we use information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the molecular docking and reporting service
  • Process docking jobs you submit and deliver result files
  • Manage accounts, Credits, subscriptions, and billing
  • Send service-related notices (job status, billing, security alerts)
  • Analyze usage, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use your structural data to train third-party AI models or sell your personal information without your explicit consent.

3. Storage of structures and result files

  • Uploaded structures and job inputs are stored during job execution and the result retention period so we can deliver ZIP/PDF files and support re-download.
  • Result retention depends on your plan (Free 7 days, Student 14 days, Research 30 days, Lab 90 days); files are then deleted and links expire. Free users may extend storage from the dashboard.
  • Download and back up important results before expiry; we cannot recover files after deletion.
  • Temporary processing files not needed after job completion are cleaned up according to internal policies.
  • We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but cannot guarantee absolute security (see liability limits in our Terms).

4. Data sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these situations:

  • Service providers: cloud hosting, payments (PayPal, Creem), email, analytics, support chat, etc., under contract and only to operate the Service
  • Legal requirements: when required by court, government, or law enforcement with lawful authority
  • Protection of rights: to prevent fraud, abuse, or protect safety and legal rights of us and users
  • With your consent: in other cases you explicitly authorize

Key service providers (subprocessors)

To operate the Service, we may use the following categories of providers (under contract and only to provide the Service):

  • Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel (website and application hosting)
  • Identity, database, and storage: Google Firebase / Google Cloud (account auth, Firestore database, file storage)
  • Sign-in and abuse prevention: Google (OAuth sign-in), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot verification)
  • Payments: PayPal and Creem (subscriptions and one-time purchases; payment card data processed directly by them)
  • Analytics and performance: Google Analytics (via Firebase, when enabled in your browser)
  • Optional AI drafts (if you use them): DeepSeek or Google Gemini API (processes only docking summary facts needed to generate draft text, not long-term training on your uploaded structures)

5. Data security

  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on storage
  • Account authentication and permission isolation
  • Periodic reviews and infrastructure security updates

No method of Internet transmission or storage is 100% secure; you must also protect your account credentials.

6. Your rights

Where applicable law allows, you may request access, correction, or deletion of personal account information, or export of certain data. Deleting your account may remove access to historical jobs and undownloaded results. Contact us at the email below; we will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

  • Maintain sign-in sessions and language/UI preferences
  • Understand site usage and improve performance
  • You can manage cookies in your browser; disabling some cookies may affect sign-in or features

8. International data transfers

Your data may be processed or stored outside your country (for example, where our cloud servers are located). We take reasonable steps to comply with applicable privacy laws.

9. Minors

The Service is intended for users aged 18 or older, or with guardian consent and supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from known minors and will delete it if discovered.

10. Legal bases and regional rights

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data on these bases:

  • Contract performance: account creation, running docking jobs, delivering results, billing, and subscription management
  • Legitimate interests: platform security, fraud and abuse prevention, and service improvement (where these do not override your rights)
  • Consent: where required (for example optional cookies or communications you explicitly authorize)
  • Legal obligation: complying with applicable law and lawful law-enforcement or court requests

EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions: you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise rights, contact support@moleculardocking.online; we will respond within a reasonable time.

We do not sell your personal information. If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, delete, and opt out of "sale/sharing" (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising); contact us at the email above.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy by posting a new version on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated on the site or by email when practicable. Continued use after posting constitutes acceptance.
